Finding a car park at the new Robina Private Hospital on the Gold Coast won’t lift your blood pressure any more.

Leading car park management company Care Park is at the forefront of technological solutions and has reduced parking stress at the hospital.  An automated operating system comprising an entry and exit station serviced by an automated pay station provides hassle-free entry and exit to the car park. The hospital’s rear loading dock is serviced by an intercom feed and the remote control entry boom gate operated by Care Park’s 24-hour / 7-day Care Assist control room.

The new hospital faced a number of potential parking stress issues upon construction due to the facility’s close proximity to the Robina train station and Queensland Health’s Robina Hospital. Parking management group Care Park understands the unique nature of hospital operations as an environment requiring an empathetic, patient and professional approach that benefits customer service and operational continuity in a busy situation. Care Park’s innovative solutions provided a streamlined and effective solution to Robina Private Hospital.

Care Park investigated the risks, provided solutions and implemented a car park management system to relieve the parking stresses. The key objective was to implement a straightforward parking system to minimise confusion for visitors while maintaining a reliable and durable system that offered a high quality appearance to match Robina Private Hospital’s corporate image.  Other objectives included a high level of real time reporting, the ability to adapt future technologies and be scalable to accommodate future hospital expansion.

Care Park’s proposal outlined two parking management systems that addressed the Hospital’s needs and identified the risk of potential long stay parking misuse from commuters and outside visitors / staff. It also defined a strategy to delineate a separate area of the car park for the Hospital’s own staff parking if required in the future.

Together with the automated operating system, a new and comprehensive signage plan was installed at the hospital’s entry and within the car park, along with a digital LED car space counter to monitor car bay availability. These extra measures were taken to reduce any confusion and enhance the customer experience.

Time was of the essence to minimise disruption to patients and staff. All operating and support systems were installed and commissioned within a 10-day timeframe.

The system has achieved all desired outcomes and ensures no misuse throughout the various car park areas. All users of Robina Private Hospital now have an easy parking experience owing to the equipment and technology solution implemented by Care Park, backed up by ongoing management services.
