Care Park awarded Accredited Operator Status

Leading car park operator gains Accredited Operator status to create a better parking experience for motorists

Parking Australia, the national association for the parking industry, has today announced Care Park, a major parking management group, will be awarded Accredited Operator status.

The Accredited Operator Scheme (AOS) aims to improve the parking experience by having private parking operators agree to a common code of practice including greater transparency, fairness and accountability.

Operators are awarded Accredited Operator status following the completion of a rigorous audit of over 80 criteria relating to parking operations, signage and compliance monitoring.

“We are delighted Care Park has received Accredited Operator status, as it looks to improve its parking facilities for motorists and businesses alike. The AOS provides both a benchmark and barometer for effective parking management, ensuring a fair balance between the rights of the motorist and those involved in the management and enforcement of parking,” said Lorraine Duffy, Chief Executive at Parking Australia.

“Care Park has a good track record of implementing leading-edge services and the latest parking technology to improve the parking experience for motorists and businesses alike. By adhering to the strict guidelines of the AOS and offering innovative parking services, Care Park joins Secure Parking in moving the parking industry forwards and driving change,” she said.

Care Park Managing Director, Robert Belteky says Care Park has been a leading proponent in driving improvement in industry standards and was a key and inaugural member of the industry group committee to design and implement the Parking Australia Code of Practice.

“Parking Australia has been instrumental as an industry body in driving change and performance standard measurement in the industry.

“We are extremely pleased to have met the accreditation standards required across our portfolio of 400 plus car parks across Australia,” Mr Belteky said.

The Accredited Operator Scheme is underpinned by a Code of Conduct and Practice providing a regulatory framework as to how car park operations are managed and presented ensuring transparency and fairness.

Since the initiative was rolled out, ACE Parking, Care Park, PriPark, Secure Parking and Wilson Parking have adopted the code of practice, with Care Park and Secure Parking being awarded Accredited status.

The AOS is but one of a series of initiatives forming part of the Parking Quality Scheme being developed by Parking Australia, as the association looks to improve the parking experience across Australia. For more information on the AOS, visit
